Dr. Andreas Eckert

Founder and Managing Partner


After earning a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Heidelberg, Dr. Eckert started his career as a theatre journalist. Subsequently, he worked for the UN at its headquarters in New York, and was later stationed in Africa, Asia and Latin America. After his return to Germany in 1990, Dr. Eckert founded Eckert Wagniskapital und Frühphasenfinanzierung, a venture and early-phase financer. He has set up over 20 life sciences companies of which ten have been exited. One of his first ventures, Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik AG, has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 1999 and has become one of the largest global suppliers of isotope technology applications for medicine, science and industry. Dr. Eckert continues to serve as its CEO.

After completing his doctoral studies in Physics and Biophysics (Dr. rer. nat.) at TU München, Dr. Heyn worked in various management positions in the life sciences and medical device sector, including positions as an early-stage venture capital investment manager, CEO, and as an interim manager in company start-ups, as well as a business developer and general manager of subsidiaries of Eckert & Ziegler AG. Today he serves as CEO of CC-Ery GmbH, an ELSA start-up.

Henner Kollenberg



Mr. Kollenberg studied Economics at the University of Bonn (Diplom-Volkswirt) and earned a Master’s degree in Law & Economics (EMLE) from Stockholm University. He started his career in the corporate strategy department of an international holding company. Afterwards, he worked as a partner in a management consulting company for many years, where he focused on technology-driven investments. While leading private equity funds, he advised them through the entire investment life cycle from deal sourcing, due diligence, performance improvement and value creation until the exit. He serves as CEO for the ELSA start-up Avitop.
